The Nevada Police Foundation, in coordination with the Washoe County School District Police Department, is embarking on a fundraiser for the School District’s Junior Cadet Program with the goal to raise funds support the programs needs such as uniforms/safety/training equipment for use during classroom activities, scenario trainings, and community events, and most importantly to send the cadets to Washington D.C. in May 2026 for the National Police Week ceremonies. This trip will allow cadets to honor fallen police officers, deepen their understanding of the sacrifices made in the line of duty, and engage with the law-enforcement community.

The First Responder Task Force (FRTF) was created to serve those who put themselves in harm’s way— proudly serving Locals nationally.

Far too many families are still struggling to receive benefits due to the fine print buried in their insurance policies. These policies denied or delayed payments for exclusions such as “Acts of War”, “Acts of Terror,” Hazardous Duty,” and “Line of Duty”, the last two of which could effect First Responders every day. This is where FRTF steps in, to do what’s right, providing exclusion-free survivor benefits specifically designed to protect First Responders and their families. It’s the one tragedy we CAN stop from ever happening again.

The Foundation is proud to announce that we have partnered with “First responder Reboot: Trauma Healing For First Responders”!

First responders absorb trauma on a regular basis as they are called into the worst moments of other people’s lives.  They can come face to face with the brokenness of the world each shift and see tragedy, death, abuse, pain and loss at rates far above the civilian world.  First Responders leave a piece of themselves at each scene and each situation can leave tattoos on the mind and wounds on their souls. REBOOT is an international movement of peer-led, faith-based trauma recovery courses with over 580 locations across the US and 16 countries with over 50,000 graduates. Recognizing that critical incident stress, compassion fatigue and moral injury events also impact first responders and their spouses, spouses are invited to participate to help rebuild lines of communication and understanding that so often break down, as well as to process their own secondary trauma.
More information on Reboot, and how to sign up for a course can be found at First Responder REBOOT – Trauma Healing Course – REBOOT Recovery
