Amberly Nelson

Amberly Nelson is a seasoned administrative, financial, and business operations professional with over a decade of experience supporting public-sector, higher-education, athletics organizations and law enforcement agencies in Southern Nevada.

She currently serves as a Business Analyst III with the Henderson Police Department, where her work focuses on supporting public safety initiatives through budget planning, forecasting, grant administration, management  of contracts and interagency agency agreements, along with other functions in the Planning and Analysis division. In this role, Amberly partners closely with command staff and executive leadership to support data-informed decision-making, ensure compliance, and align resources with departmental priorities.

In addition to her analytical and operational expertise, Amberly brings experience in communications, marketing, social media, and event production. She has contributed to planning and execution of athletic, civic, and community-focused events, supporting branding, coordination, marketing, and social media efforts.  With a foundation in communications studies and a strong understanding of digital platforms, she has worked with social media to highlight organizational impact, promote initiatives, and strengthen connections with internal and external stakeholders.

Amberly holds a Master’s degree in Urban Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is recognized for her collaborative leadership style, strategic mindset, and commitment to advancing organizations that serve the community. Her combined experience in public safety, communications, and organizational development positions her to add value at all levels.
